There are 3 standard for steel bars for reinforced concrete as follows SD30, SD40 and SD50 meaning that the steel bars have yeild stress of more than 3000 kg/cm², 4000 kg/cm² and 5000 kg/cm² respectively. The most commonly used in the market is SD40.
