Round bars are round in cross section. Deformed bars differ from the round bars in that they have either indentations in them or ridges on them, or both, in a regular pattern.  The spiral ridges, along the surface of the deformed bar, increase its bond strength with concrete.

There are 3 standard for steel bars for reinforced concrete as follows SD30, SD40 and SD50 meaning that the steel bars have yeild stress of more than 3000 kg/cm², 4000 kg/cm² and 5000 kg/cm² respectively. The most commonly used in the market is SD40.

T is the mark showing that the steel has been processed through heat treatment. The T-mark only indicates the process. 90% of domestic steel products involves heat treatment process. Additonally, the T-mark doesn’t define quality of the steel.

Each color represents the thickness of the pipe. Green, red, blue and yellow representing the thickest wall to the thinnest wall respectively.

Hot rolling is a mill process which involves rolling the steel at a high temperature, widely used for structural integrity where precise shapes are not required. While cold rolled steel is essentially hot rolled steel that has had further processing. All cold products provide a superior surface finish, and are superior in tolerance, concentricity, and straightness. Cold rolled steel are widely used for any fabrications where tolerances, surface condition, concentricity, and straightness are the major factors.
